Blue matcha is the drink that makes everyone ask "what is that?". Despite the name, it is not matcha in the tea sense.
What it is made of
Blue matcha is a fine powder of butterfly pea flowers. It contains no tea leaves, so it has no caffeine. Our blue matcha 50 g comes from Thailand and makes about 12 cups.
How it differs from green matcha
- Green matcha is tea-leaf powder with natural caffeine
- Blue matcha is flower powder with no caffeine
- Green tastes grassy; blue is very mild, so it is mostly about colour
How to use it
Mix it with milk and ice for a sky-blue latte, add a little vanilla syrup, or layer it with green matcha for a two-colour drink. It also colours desserts naturally.
Try both
The Blue Zoomi Box has green and blue matcha with a full tool set, and the Big Offer Box includes blue matcha as a gift.
